Excursion to the peak of Pares

Description

The hike begins from the Spescia Dessura car park in La Valle (book and pay online). From San Vigilio, the starting point can be reached by car in about 30 minutes. Initially, follow dirt road no. 16, which is almost flat, until you reach a crossroads where you turn sharply right (vehicle traffic prohibited) and continue uphill on the main trail. At 1,967 m, after a barn, the trail forks to the right towards a bench. At the next Rit refuge, turn right, and at the next crossroads with a bench, turn left and climb steeply. At the summit, the trail bears slightly left towards the visible summit cross of Pares (2,396 m). The descent begins at the first crossroads (bench) on the left (no. 13). The trail, marked by wooden posts, descends beneath rock faces through a varied landscape, past a cattle watering hole, until it reaches a wide dirt road. This road continues downhill (no. 13A), passing alpine meadows. At the intersection with a wooden fence, turn right onto the trail, which will take you back to the starting point in a few minutes.
