Description
Big Five - Wildlife Viewing
The Ködnitz Valley in Kals glows in brilliant golden yellow and fiery red—autumn is arriving in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
At the foot of the Großglockner, armed with a spotting scope and binoculars from Swarovski Optik, you’ll set out to search for signs of the BIG FIVE in their natural habitat and get to know the inhabitants of the Alps.
With a little luck, you can spot and observe bearded vultures, golden eagles, ibex, chamois, and marmots in the wild—including a breathtaking view of the Großglockner.
The rangers will also tell you all about the extinction of the ibex and their reintroduction in the mid-1960s in the Kalser Ködnitztal valley.
On the NatureWatch tours, the national park becomes a lively open-air classroom for the whole family with children ages 6 and up.
