Distillery Liebl
A family business from the very beginning!
The family business originated from a small grocery store run by grandmother Maria Liebl in the lower Marktstraße in Kötzting. After the difficult war years, the current premises on Jahnstraße were acquired. Grandfather Ferdinand and son Gerhard (business owner Gerhard Liebl Sr.) built up a wine and spirits wholesale business, buying wine and spirits as open goods and bottling and selling them under their own name.
1970
The production of their own spirits specialties began. Bärwurz, Böhmischer Wind, Höllensteiner and Latschenwacholder were our first own products at that time.
1991
Our business was expanded with the addition of a modern distillery.
1993-1994
A new storage and bottling hall was built and the store and tasting room were completely rebuilt and extended.
1999
Expansion and modernization of the distillery. Two new state-of-the-art distilleries with patented catalytic converter technology
are put into operation.
2001
Further expansion of the bottling plant with a new fully automatic filling line for clay jugs.
08.02.2006
Expansion of the company with new halls in Pfingstreiterstr. 5 in Bad Kötzting and installation of a state-of-the-art capping distillery.
2016
The first drop of "Oberpfalzer" and the beginning of a wonderful partnership.
