From the Olpererhütte to the Friesenberghaus

This round tour takes us to two historically significant mountain refuges on the Berliner Höhenweg. We start our fantastic high mountain round tour at Schlegeis and hike over many steps and hairpin bends up to the Olperer hut. Shortly above the hut we cross a suspension bridge, which has recently gained great fame through the social media and hike in easy ups and downs along a panoramic path out of the valley. From a hilltop we spot the picturesque Friesenbergsee lake and right next to it the Friesenberghaus (2,498 m), to which the path leads us down in steep switchbacks. After a leisurely rest with a view of the lake, we hike via the Friesenbergalm past many streams down to the Schlegeis reservoir.
