Conscious walking and lingering in the forest including meditation.
Shinrin-yoku, "bathing in the forest air" or "forest bathing" for short, is a natural healing method from Japan. It involves walking through the forest with all your senses. In other countries, the method is practised far more often and is also publicly recognized. In Japan, for example, "forest bathing" is even part of preventive healthcare.
But what is so healthy about forest bathing? Quite simply, the forest absorbs chemical messengers, also known as terpenes. These terpenes have positive effects on the human body, especially on the nervous system, the psyche and the immune system.
