When Words Become Images and Music Tells Stories
Christian Jaschinski – Thriller, Music & Dinner at the Ahlbecker Hof
On October 17, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m., we welcome Lemgo-based author and musician Christian Jaschinski for a special evening at the SEETELHOTEL Ahlbecker Hof.
Literature meets music, suspense meets indulgence: Christian Jaschinski brings two of his greatest passions to Ahlbeck. In two reading sessions, he’ll take his guests on a journey into the world of his action-packed thriller “STARCK and the Second Wife,” the second volume in his “STARCK – Prosecutor in the Shadows” series.
But this evening is far more than a traditional reading.
Between passages read with passion, Christian Jaschinski shares the background of his novel, discussing his research, characters, and the creation of his story. And time and again, he shifts from the spoken word to the grand piano.
With theme songs from well-known movies and TV series—from “Sherlock” to “Magnum” to “The Pink Panther”—he creates musical imagery and a unique atmosphere. In addition, he performs two compositions that Jaschinski wrote specifically for his STARCK series: “Die Komplizen” (The Accomplices), an opulent work about new beginnings and returns, conflicts, trials, and decisions, as well as the atmospheric nocturne “Die Kriegerin” (The Warrior)—quieter, more emotional, and almost like the theme music of a film that takes shape in your mind’s eye as you listen.
A thriller about guilt, power, and the search for truth
Former prosecutor Andreas Starck is still fighting to prove his innocence. Five years ago, he fell victim to a conspiracy and was sent to prison. Together with investigative journalist Tom Finder, his inquiries uncover connections that reach all the way to the highest echelons of the judiciary.
To clear his name, Starck must uncover the true identity of “Uncle Pablo”—one of Europe’s most powerful mafia bosses. He receives unexpected support from the thief Vanessa Conrad. But can he really trust her?
When both fall into Pablo’s clutches, the search for the truth turns into a fight for survival—and, at the same time, a confrontation with their own pasts.
Bestselling author Klaus-Peter Wolf on the novel:
“Fast-paced cuts. Snappy dialogue. Pure cinematic imagination!”
And afterward, that mental movie becomes a treat
The evening is deliberately divided into two acts.
To kick things off, the kitchen at Restaurant Kaiserblick will welcome you with a small amuse-bouche before Christian Jaschinski begins the first part of his reading.
After about 50 minutes, there will be a roughly 20-minute intermission. Time for conversation, a drink, and another amuse-bouche from the Kaiserblick kitchen.
Afterward, the stage and grand piano will once again belong to Christian Jaschinski for about 50 minutes.
Around 8:00 p.m., the evening finally shifts from literature and music to culinary delights: A three-course dinner awaits you at Restaurant Kaiserblick, where you can reflect on the evening’s experiences in a relaxed atmosphere.
The result is an evening that takes its time—for excitement, music, conversation, and enjoyment.
