The Magic of a Mountain Lake
We take a taxi from Lanersbach to the Hobalm. This alpine pasture lies below the Geiseljoch, a historic grazing area for the livestock of the Frauenchiemsee Monastery. We hike along a forest road beside the Hobarbach stream to the rustic Vallruckalm. There, we enjoy the snacks we brought along and take in the panoramic view down into the valley. Afterward, we set off for the Eiskarsee, which often remains frozen well into spring. After descending to the Vallruckalm, we’ll take the return route via the Nederjoch—with its countless alpine roses—and the Nasse-Tux-Alm, before stopping for a bite to eat at the Geiselhöfe. A taxi takes us back to Lanersbach.
