Am Waldweg 105a, Achenkirch
The Steinerne Tor is an alpine crossing in the Rofan at 1,955 m above sea level. It is formed by a striking incision in the rocky connecting ridge between Klobenjoch and Streichkopf.
We take the hotel bus to the valley station of the Rofan cable car in Maurach. This takes us up to the starting point of our hike at 1,840 m above sea level. First, we walk along the panoramic hiking trail to the Dalfaz Alm at 1,693 m with a magnificent view of Lake Achensee. Above the Dalfaz Alm, the red mountain trail leads up to the Steinernes Tor at 1,955 m above sea level. From there, we hike downhill via the Kotalm Hochleger and to the Kotalm Mitterleger and Niederleger mountain huts and back into the valley.
