Description
The Steinerne Tor is an alpine pass in the Rofan Mountains, located at an elevation of 1,955 hm. It is formed by a striking notch in the rocky ridge connecting the Klobenjoch and the Streichkopf.
We’ll take the hotel shuttle to the valley station of the Rofan Cable Car in Maurach. This will take us up to the starting point of our hike at 1,840 hm. First, we’ll follow the Panorama Hiking Trail to the Dalfaz Alm at 1,693 hm, where we’ll enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Achensee. Above the Dalfaz Alm, the red mountain trail leads up to the Steinerne Tor at 1,955 hm. From there, we hike downhill, first across alpine terrain and then along forest roads via the Kotalm back down into the valley.
