Guided snowshoe hike on the high moor

Description

We walk 5 minutes from the parking lot to the edge of the forest. After putting on our snowshoes, we walk along a forest path towards Hochmoor. Here we hike in a wintry landscape with many clearings, which offers us a wonderful view of the Wasenmoos and the Hohe Tauern, approx. 200 m uphill. Once at the top, we can enjoy the view over a high moor to the small Rettenstein before hiking back down again. Next to a small winter stream covered in ice crystals and across an open field, the path leads us past a forest cemetery directly to the Hochmoorstüberl, where we can stop for a bite to eat and relax with local delicacies. We then hike along a snow-covered path to the Wasenmoos where we take a look at the information stand before we walk through the Wasenmoos and then leisurely back to the starting point.
