Leitach Coste, 46, Chiusa
From the panoramic hike to the visit of the three churches: A visit to one of the oldest places of pilgrimage in Tyrol is truly interesting!
The Säbener Berg and its monastery deserve the greatest attention for their archaeology, history and art. There is a lot to tell about the historical mountain castle near Klausen: around the year 1000, the bishop's seat was moved from Säben to Brixen. Until then, the Holy Cross Church was the cathedral of the diocese of Sabiona for about 400 years. The Holy Mountain is one of the oldest places of pilgrimage in Tyrol, so the largely known Ladin cloister is already mentioned in 1503.
Säben is accessible only on foot, either via the Way of the Cross (30 minutes) or along the promenade (40 minutes).
