Guided ranger tour - Into the valley of emeralds

The tour starts at the information hut at the Habachtal parking lot. After a few meters, you leave the road and enter the "Emerald Trail". Along the way, the ranger tells you about the special features of the Trogtal valley and the glittering green mineral treasure: the valuable emeralds. You will also learn how to search for stones and where exactly you are allowed to search. There is also plenty of nature watching - with a bit of luck you might spot either golden eagles or marmots. The end of the tour is marked by the Almgasthof Alpenrose. You can stop off there and return to the starting point with either the ranger or the "Smaragdtaxi".

Duration: approx. 4.5 (2.5) h pure walking time - The way back from Gasthof Alpenrose is also possible with the Smaragdtaxi.

Easy summer excursion: approx. 12 (6) km / 500 hm

Equipment: sturdy, ankle-high footwear (ideally hiking boots),

clothing suitable for the weather (incl. rain and sun protection),

alpine rucksack (20-30L) with drinks and snack,

hiking poles if available years

children from 7 years, dogs not allowed!
