Sonnhof Reception

Alpendorf 16, Sankt Johann im Pongau
We start from the Schwabalm parking lot (toll road € 6/car) and walk up to the largest and highest mountain lake in the Eastern Alps in approx. 1 3/4 hours.
The path is mostly shady and leads through the forest, past a spectacular waterfall and always with a fantastic view down to the Jägersee lake.
Once at the top, the strenuous ascent is well worth it. The "bravest" can jump into the crystal-clear, emerald-green and approx. 14 degree "warm" water.
A beautiful path leads along the lake to the Tappenkarseealm at 1,762m above sea level. There we enjoy a refreshment on the terrace and the good food.
Tip: Bring your swimsuit and try the delicious Kaiserschmarrn
