Guided tour of Goldrain Castle

Description

Latsch-Martello and the surrounding area is one of the few areas in South Tyrol with traces of Renaissance architecture. Here, where important mines were once located, there are impressive architectural monuments from that era, such as Schlandersburg Castle and the Goldrain Castle educational building. The only moated castle in the Venosta Valley, Laces Castle, was built here in the 13th century. Annaberg, the ruins of Untermontani and Obermontani Castle, the site of an original manuscript of the Song of the Nibelungs from 1323, also date from the same period.
