How do I pack my backpack sustainably?

Less is more. Pack only what you need, but pack it right.

Regional provisions and seasonal fruits and vegetables from the area are ideal for refreshments on the road. The use of these foods promotes local cycles, and the short transport distances save CO2 and thus protect the environment.

A reusable hiking box serves not only as a container for the Marende, but also for the resulting waste. Because what I take up the mountain, I bring back to the valley and dispose of properly there.

Sufficient liquid is also important on a hike. Every newly purchased disposable bottle means waste. Fresh water can be refilled in refillable drinking water bottles at drinking water fountains.

For human needs, pack a toilet paper as an emergency paper. Paper tissues take 5 years, toilet paper only 2-4 weeks to decompose in nature.

Therefore, remember:

"What I take up the mountain, I bring back home and dispose of properly".

Stay on the marked hiking and biking routes. Avoid litter and don't leave it behind.

Do not take unnecessary ballast with you. In our managed huts and alpine pastures you will get everything you need.
