Description
At the LVR open-air museum in Kommern, you can take a short journey through 500 years of everyday life - in the middle of the Eifel and on a huge 100 hectares. Between over 75 historic farms, workshops, mills and lovingly preserved buildings, you can stroll through a living village. Particularly exciting: demonstrations such as blacksmithing and insights into smokehouses show you the crafts and life of the past up close. Another real highlight is the reconstructed 1950s/1960s market square, which immediately evokes nostalgia. There are also folk festivals and changing themed events that make every visit different. Perfect if you don't just want to look at culture, but really experience it.
