Red Salon

Ken Fulk, the multi-award-winning American interior desiger, has transformed Max Reinhardt's former meeting room, the Red Salon at Schloss Leopoldskron, into a unique space that meets the needs of any event.

The light-flooded corner room on the east side of the castle with a view of the beautiful park transports you into a fantasy world of nature with its hand-painted wallpaper portraying extravagant bird, tree, and leaf motifs in turquoise-green. The wallpaper was specially made for the Red Salon by de Gournay, a world-renowned company for its hand-painted wallpapers and fabrics.

This contrasts with the original, newly upholstered red furniture and the refurbished parquet floor. The Red Salon represents a total work of art in the spirit of Max Reinhardt, for whom this room must have had a very special significance, as it was here that he founded the Salzburg Festival.
