You will be taken inside the large sanatorium complex by experts in architecture, landscape, art history, and forestry sciences. It will be possible to "observe" the hospital garrison from the point of view of landscape, architecture, technologies and plant engineering.
The former Sanatorial Village of Sondalo is the most relevant example of rationalist architecture in Valtellina and one of the most significant achievements of sanatorial construction at national and European level. The structures of the Village were built between 1932 and 1938; furnishings and equipment were completed after the war, when the complex became operational. It was an extraordinary construction site in terms of size, means, location, meticulous technical management and refined executive design.
