The “Bürgeralpe Magic of Lights” transforms Mariazell’s local mountain into a sparkling winter wonderland.

The “Bürgeralpe Express” cable car takes you comfortably and with full accessibility from Mariazell up to 1,267 meters. The valley station is just a three-minute walk from the atmospheric Advent market on the main square.

Once at the top, the Holzknechtland reveals itself in a whole new light—winding paths of light, glittering trees, a mysteriously shimmering lake, and, as the highlight, an impressive sound-to-light laser show at the observation tower.

This enchanting experience is complemented by culinary delights at the mountain inn with a view of the surrounding mountain peaks and fine hot beverages at the “Arche des Waldes” by the lake. To round off the day, the cable car ride takes you back to festively illuminated Mariazell.
