On Heiden’s church square, in the run-up to the Biedermeier Festival, stands what is likely the smallest museum in the Lake Constance region. A walk-in Biedermeier cabinet serves as the exhibition space for the pop-up museum.
With this pop-up museum, the 2026 Biedermeier Festival gains an iconic landmark. It’s not just an eye-catcher right in the middle of Heiden’s church square. The compact exhibition “Biedermeier: The Art of Coziness” conveys the distinctive features of that era (1815–1848) in an entertaining way and also explains why the Biedermeier period is commemorated with such passion in Heiden in particular.
