Experience 2,600 years of salt history with all your senses
The journey into the mountain is a journey through time - more precisely through 2,600 years of salt mining on the Dürrnberg near Hallein. Equipped with the white suit of the miners, we set off on the trail of the white gold - through four eras of salt mining in Salzburg: starting with modern mining in the present, we continue through the dark Middle Ages and finally back to the Iron Age to the Celtic miners. A raft trip across the mystical salt lake takes us into the dazzling world of baroque Salzburg. And by the way, we pass the only underground state border between Austria and Germany, take a ride on a mine train and hurtle down two miners' slides deeper and deeper. What an adventurous journey!
