Melager Alm

In the upper Langtauferer valley, at the foot of the Weisskugel with its glaciers, the Melager Alm is located on the edge of a cross-country ski trail and a winter hiking trail: the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful winter's day.

Route description

Our winter walk begins in Melag, the last hamlet in the Langtauferer Valley, at around 1900 m above sea level. The road ends here and there is a parking lot at the bus stop. The trail leads through the small village into the valley, after the farms it continues along the winter path parallel to the cross-country ski trail.

It is a pleasantly wide path through the snow-covered high valley, we cross the bridge over the Karlinbach to continue along the edge of the forest (path no. 5). The path is flat and only shortly before the Melager Alm is there a short, slight ascent to overcome. The alpine hut welcomes us with good, traditional cuisine.
