The Staffelsee with its 7 islands is located in the middle of the pre-alpine moorland landscape to the west of Murnau. Its mild, peaty water warms up quickly (22 to 26 °C) and is a popular bathing lake. The peaty, healing water is of excellent quality and has a positive effect on health. The surrounding area can be explored via a 22 km circular hiking trail. Pedal boats and rowing boats can be hired in the summer months. Fishing is possible from mid-May to mid-October. The MS Seehausen passenger boat runs between Murnau, Seehausen and Uffing - a great way to explore the lake and the landscape. A beautiful lake with great opportunities to enjoy nature and relax. In winter, when it's cold outside, the extensive ice surface offers ideal conditions for curling, ice skating and ice hockey.
