Hike to the source of the Isar & Kastenalm

From the Scharnitz Nature Park Information Center, the easy hike leads towards Hinterautal to Gleirschhöhe, a beautiful vantage point. From here, continue in the direction of Isarursprung/Kastenalm.

The source of the Isar is located in the middle of the picturesque Karwendel. From there, the clear water flows another 15 km through Tyrol before it turns into Bavaria's fourth largest river.

From the source of the Isar, it is only 2 km to the original Kastenalm, which invites you to enjoy a leisurely snack.
