With Katrin to the Gaisalpe
Katrin knows the trails around Oberstdorf like the back of her hand—and the Gaisalpe is one of her favorite hikes for anyone looking for an adventure without pushing themselves to the limit. The hike starts past the ski jump stadium, then heads up through a shady conifer forest on the Wallrafweg—often pleasantly shaded, with beautiful views of the upper Iller Valley. Once you reach the Gaisalpe at 1,149 m, you’ll have truly earned the panoramic view. For the return trip, she has two options up her sleeve: the wild and romantic Tobelweg through the Gaisalpbach gorge—or the more relaxed road down into the valley. She knows both routes and will recommend what’s best for you that day.
