The easy path leads through a pristine mountain forest up to the Gamshütte, which lies below the mighty Grinberg peaks. Almost the entire ascent from the Innerberg bus stop to Brunnhaus runs over the wooded Gamsberg and therefore in the shade of the trees. On the last 300 meters of altitude, the trail leads us through the Ebenschlag natural forest reserve. Here, the forest has been left to its own devices for around 30 years - people are only guests here to observe and explore nature. Many rare and protected plants and animals, such as the three-toed woodpecker and the capercaillie, have returned to this rustic fairytale forest. After a leisurely stop at the Gamshütte, we hike back to Finkenberg.
