The LUMEN is located at 2,275 meters above sea level, right at the summit of Kronplatz, and is entirely dedicated to mountain photography. Across approximately 1,800 m² of exhibition space, you’ll experience the history of mountain photography from its beginnings to the present day—with historical photographs, modern installations, interactive exhibits, and impressive panoramic views of the Dolomites.
✨ Special highlights:
Highlights include the impressive Hall of Mirrors, the huge movable “shutter,” exhibitions on mountaineers, nature, tourism, and photography, as well as a hologram of Reinhold Messner. The spectacular view of the Dolomites and the main Alpine ridge also makes a visit to the museum a special experience.

The same building also houses the renowned AlpiNN Food Space & Restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Norbert Niederkofler. Perfect for anyone who wants to combine mountains, photography, and extraordinary culinary moments.

Summer: Mid-May through early November. Winter: Late November through mid-April. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., last admission at 3:30 p.m.
