The mother of all mines! How 500 years ago more than 11,000 miners have mined silver and copper under the greatest effort, you can still experience directly today.
The diligence of the miners in the 15th and 16th centuries made Schwaz the second largest town in Austria and Tyrol probably the richest part of Europe at that time - thus Schwaz became the largest silver mining metropolis in the world.
The silver mine is open all year round and has a constant temperature of 13° C - pleasantly cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter.
