The Salzburg Zoo has a unique location, as it sits between the steep rocky cliffside of the Hellbrunn mountain and the hilly landscape with views of the Austrian Alps. It is home to about 1,200 local and exotic animals. Take a walk through the animal kingdoms of Eurasia, South America, and Africa. You will find otters plunging in the water, the Bolivian squirrel monkey hunting for insects, or the snow leopards playing – a visit to the Salzburg Zoo is always a great experience!


Salzburg Global Seminar is a patron of the flamingo enclosure, commemorating Max Reinhardt's own flamingos in the Schloss park.
