Via Dante Alighieri, 56, Merano
This Waalweg was built by Count von Brandis to ensure the irrigation of his estates.
Start at the parking lot on the Gampenstraße in Lana. First go up the Gampenstraße for about 100m and then you will already see the small fork in the Waalweg.
If you are looking for the Waal on this path, you will search in vain, because it actually runs under the path. Thus, the path is particularly wide and therefore also suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
On your way you will see beautiful orchards & vineyards, the monastery of Lanegg, the chapel of St. Margaret, the fruit tree museum and the parish church of Niederlana, which is famous for the Schnatterpeck altar.
So you walk leisurely in the direction of the Golf Club Lana and a little further to the Brandisbach with the pretty waterfall.
