Bavaria's highest town delights with medieval alleys, historic buildings, the old city wall and much more.
The origins of the city date back to Roman times, to which the place name also refers.
It comes from the Latin word "fauces", which translated means "maw".
Accordingly, the town was named after the gorge at the Lech Falls. Numerous cafés and restaurants, stores and squares invite you to take a leisurely stroll through the pedestrian zone.
You can conveniently park your car in the parking garage at Theresienhof, Theresienstraße 11/2. From there it is only a few minutes walk to the old town.
