Guided hike “From Alpe Eschbach to Petersalpe and back”:

You’ll meet at the hotel at 1:00 p.m. and take bus line 7 (Zweistapfenweg) at 1:05 p.m. to Birgsau, getting off at the final stop at Alpe Eschbach.

Here, the hike begins along a gravel path with magnificent views of the Allgäu’s “Trinity” (Trettach, Mädelegabel, and Hochfrottspitze) to Einödsbach, Germany’s southernmost village inhabited year-round, continuing past the Bacherlochbach stream and along the hiking trail to Petersalpe (Sennalpe). Here you’ll have the opportunity to stop for refreshments.

The trail leads back a short distance before crossing the Stillach River, passing the Alpe Buchrainer, and continuing along an asphalt road for about 2.5 km to the bus stop at the Alpe Eschbach.

Return trip at 4:58 p.m. or 5:58 p.m. on Line 7, arriving at the hotel at 5:21 p.m. or 6:21 p.m.

Distance: approx. 7.4 km

Elevation gain: approx. 380 m uphill and downhill

Walking time round trip: approx. 4.5 hours

Return with a stop for refreshments: approx. 5:30 p.m. / 6:30 p.m.

Sturdy footwear is required, and a good level of basic fitness is necessary.
