Vinyasa means "breathing with movement", whereby the various yoga positions are combined in a flowing movement. This synchronization of breathing and movement creates a "flow effect". This yoga class also includes parts of traditional Ashtanga yoga and is a little more demanding in terms of fitness. Course of the class:
- With a short meditation, we bring our awareness to our mind and body and prepare ourselves mentally for the practice by taking a few deep breaths.
- Important breathing and relaxation techniques for this yoga class are explained and practiced.
- This is followed by the physical practice, in which we practise a yoga flow after a warm-up. This style of yoga is similar to a workout and is physically demanding. Here, the exercises are performed more quickly and positions are held for less time, but several different positions are practiced in a sequence. Physical benefits: quick weight loss, improves fitness, strengthens muscles, very good for balance, improves body shape, stability, better circulation, energizing, better digestion Mental benefits: activating, strengthens concentration, better self-confidence, learning to live in the here and now, control over breathing and mind/spirit.
