60' yoga + 15' Pranayama, complete lesson
(You may leave the hall after the yoga class alone or complete it with the breathing exercises. You may not access the Pranayama only)
Learning to breathe is learning to live.
Our breath changes involuntarily (becoming anxious, shallower or accelerated) according to the situations of our lives. Nonetheless, if we learn to voluntarily control our breath we can change the way we react to the different events of life (keeping calmer more serene less physically and mentally stressed) and be
happier.
Like the earth, we move from the broad summer exhalation to a slow inhalation leading toward the winter pause. By stimulating the fire in the solar plexus we balance the dispersion of energies typical of this time. Postures that bring us toward the center are aimed at bringing stability while warming postures compensate for the humoral imbalances that diminishing light sometimes brings.
