Between vines and monastery walls

From Brixen, the trail leads gently uphill through the vineyards to the Neustift monastery. Step by step, sweeping views open up over the town and the autumn-colored vines. The traditional monastery has shaped the cultural landscape and viticulture of the region for centuries. During a guided tour of the vineyard, we gain an insight into the work in the vineyard and the monastery's long wine-growing tradition. This is followed by a tasting of selected wines (included) - an authentic impression of the soils and terroir around Neustift. The tour then continues to the Burgerhof Meßner wine tavern. Kathrin and Johannes serve down-to-earth South Tyrolean cuisine, from a "burger snack" with organic farm produce to hot dishes (food and drinks not included). We also enjoy the view over the surrounding vineyards and down to Brixen.
