Snowshoe hike in the Latemar region

Experience pure winter magic on a snowshoe hike in the deep winter Latemar region, where untouched snowy landscapes and the imposing panorama of the Dolomites promise an unforgettable nature experience.

Tour description:

After taking the public bus, we start our hike at the Paolina valley station. The trail leads us steadily uphill through the Latemar forest towards the Latemar Alm and on to the Labyrinthsteig trail. After crossing this impressive section, we reach the Mitterleger. From there, we hike downhill towards the Grandhotel and finally back to the starting point.

* Meeting point:

We meet at 09:00 at the Paolina bus stop.

- Arrival from Tiers: With bus route 186, which starts in Bolzano (departure time 07:52), via Tiers (08:21 Brunnenplatz) and St. Zyprian (08:31, St. Zyprian). Zyprian (08:31, boarding also possible via line 176) to the Paolina stop.

- Arrival from the Eggental Valley: With bus line 180, which also starts in Bozen (departure time 08:07), via Birchabruck bus station (08:30, boarding possible from lines 181 and 182) and Welschnofen center (departure time 08:43) to the Paolina stop.

On both lines, it is of course also possible to board at all other stops along the route.

Walking time: approx. 4.5 hours

Ascent: approx. 400 m

Descent: approx. 400 m

Difficulty: Moderately difficult hike, good basic fitness required

Refreshments: No refreshments available, please bring a packed lunch

Good to know

The snowshoe equipment must be brought by the participant.

If snowshoes are not required due to insufficient snow conditions, we will inform the participants by email the day before. In this case, we ask all participants to bring snowshoes and suitable mountain boots to ensure safety and comfort during the tour.

Please therefore check your emails the evening before the tour to ensure

that you are equipped with the correct equipment.
