Birds great and small

This leisurely hike around the Matreier Tauernhaus is all about the feathered inhabitants of the region. With binoculars and spotting scopes from Swarovski Optik, you will discover large birds of prey such as bearded vultures, griffon vultures and golden eagles - the kings of the skies.

You will learn exciting facts about their lives, their travels, breeding grounds and how their habitat is protected. With a bit of luck, you may also see falcons, whinchats, wheatears or the carmine finch.

What you need:

✔ Sturdy mountain boots with a good sole

✔ Outdoor clothing (incl. rain & sun protection)

✔ A pair of boots with a good sole. Rain & sun protection)

✔ Backpack with snack and drink

✔ Hiking poles (if desired)
