The Ant that Learned to Dance is an engaging and entertaining show for young and old alike in which Aesop's famous fables come to life giving smiles and reflections.
The grasshopper and the ant play the role of presenters and conductors as they accompany the audience during the performance of some of the best-known fables, culminating with the speaker Demade, personified in Aesop himself. It will be the author himself on stage who will guide the audience beyond appearances by revealing the allegorical meaning of this theatrical tale, as is typically the case in the ancient animal fables that have come down to us thanks to him. Among the fables woven into the play:
Mountain mouse and city mouse
To the wolf to the wolf
The wolf and the lamb
The two wayfarers and the bear
The bear, the fox and the lion
The fox and the grape
The lion, the mosquito, the spider and the bird
The sun and the north wind and the wayfarer
The shipwrecked insects
The play is staged by the youth theater group Fili D'Erba, Watershed Social Promotion Association, whose very young actors range in age from 14 to 23.
