Valdisotto, Location San Bartolomeo

Via Funivia, 3, Bormio
ACTIVITIES:
Guided tours by volunteers of the Pro Loco Valdisotto, to accompany you in the discovery of the places of worship and historical treasures that tell the soul of our territory.
BREAKING DESCRIPTION
Of very ancient foundation, it probably arose as the castellan church of a medieval fortress that guarded access to the Bormio area and of which only part of a surrounding wall is preserved today. Considered one of the most beautiful churches in Alta Valtellina because of its panoramic and isolated location and artistic merit, it contains pictorial cycles inside that span the 14th to 16th centuries. Outside we find the 18th-century ossuary (one of the few examples that has come down to us) and the bell tower detached from the church and set on a rocky outcrop.
