Hiking on the Ahorn

The Ahornbahn in Mountopolis Mayrhofen started the summer season on 15.06.2024. Take the car or our shuttle to the Ahornbahn parking lot. A mountain & valley ticket for the gondola costs 32 euros per person. Once on the Ahorn plateau, follow the purple signs on the circular hiking trail on the left. On the way, you can enjoy the fantastic view over the Zillertal from various viewing platforms or take a short break at the knee-deep Ahornsee lake. The rustic Filzenalm in the lower part of the hiking trail is also worth a visit, where goats, pigs and chickens await visitors. The falconry oasis regularly offers eagle shows with impressive birds of prey. The entire tour takes around 1-1.5 hours and is also possible with a baby carriage. If you want to go a little further, you can walk from the Ahornsee lake to the summit cross of the Filzenkopf or to the Edelhütte (approx. 3 hours in total).
