Alpendorf 3, Sankt Johann im Pongau
Together with your hiking guide Vanessa, you will hike along the forest path from Alpendorf down to the Liechtenstein Gorge. During the hike, Vanessa will not only tell you exciting details about the formation of the gorge, but also interesting facts about the history of its discovery and the role of the Prince of Liechtenstein, after whom the gorge is named. Vanessa also explains how the complex infrastructure - including footbridges, bridges and the spectacular Helix Staircase - has to be constantly maintained to make the gorge accessible to visitors safely and in a way that respects nature. Even at the entrance, the narrow gorge impresses with its unique atmosphere: rushing water, steep rock faces and the fascinating interplay of light and shadow give an idea of the forces of nature at work here. After crossing the gorge, you return to the entrance of the Liechtenstein Gorge, from where you make your own way back to Alpendorf - with many impressions in your luggage and the sound of the waterfalls still in your ears.
