Durch den Zauberwald - magisches Berchtesgadener Land

Follow the footpath along the Ramsauer Ache upstream, past the glacial springs, to the Marxenklamm gorge, where the water has carved a deep gorge into the rock over many millennia. The formation of the enchanted forest

About 3500 years ago, the unimaginable mass of around 15 million cubic meters of rock fell down from the Hochkalter and blocked the valley. The tangle of rocks is overgrown with lush vegetation. The hiking trail winds its way through them, as does the clear, cool water of the mountain stream. The water of the Hintersee created in this way found its way down the valley through the huge boulders and, over time, a fairytale landscape was created that can truly enchant hikers.

You can also hike back to Ramsau near Berchtesgaden via the Wartstein and the charming Kunterweg pilgrimage church. This extends the tour by around an hour.
