Berghotel Rehlegg
Into your hiking boots
Driving from the village of Ramsau past Hintersee in Berchtesgadener Land, a large parking lot is the end of the line for our car. At the point where Hirschbichlstraße is closed off by a high wooden gate, we get out of the car, put on our hiking boots and head for the Bindalm.
About 100 m after the gate, we stay on the asphalt road until a signpost directs us to the left onto a gravel hiking trail. It leads almost flat through the Grundübelau. At first, we can only hear the rushing water from afar, but soon we are walking alongside the glistening Klausbach stream. To our left is the Hochkalter, the Ofental and Steintalhörndl and the Hocheis group. To our right, the rugged Reiteralpe offers us one of the wild and romantic images that are typical of the Berchtesgadener Land region.
Never lose sight of your destination
Near the Engert-Holzstube (shelter hut), you briefly reach the asphalt road (up to here 1 hour). Now switch back to the left side of the Klausbach and follow the ascending hiking trail. When the gorge widens and the little stream comes towards us across a sunny alpine meadow, we have almost reached the destination of our hike, Bindalm.
Of mountain dreams and alpine wonders
The picture with the four Kasern and the Reiteralpe in the background is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and unforgettable in Berchtesgadener Land. The alpine settlement is a listed building. Fresh milk and homemade cheese as well as a snack are available in the mountain huts.
Duration of the hike
The walk from Hintersee to the Bindalm takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
