The modern infrastructure of the panorama summit Kronplatz, 2275 m can be used for an alternative form of further hiking with certain experiences.
With the public bus #463 or individually with a taxi you have to go up to the Furkelpass. From there, the modern gondola Ruis goes up to the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, which is worth seeing. The museum is about traditional alpinism, which and which Reinhold Messner had a decisive influence on. Here alpine history is told as well as the unique view of the great walls of the Dolomites and Alps are included in the exhibition. At the edge of the most magnificent viewing plateau in South Tyrol, in the unmistakable museum building by Zaha Hadid, the view extends beyond the national borders in all four directions: from the Lienz Dolomites in the east to the Ortler in the west, from the Marmolada in the south to the Ziller Alps in the north.
You can make the "descent" with the Kronplatz 2000 gondola to Reischach. From the valley station a public bus goes down to Bruneck station, from where you can take the "Südtirol Bahn" free of charge (guest card) to Villabassa station and from there the public bus to Val Badia.
