A Schloss with a Mission

Built in 1744 by the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg, Schloss

Leopoldskron has been inextricably linked to cycles of power, persecution, and renewal. Since our founding in 1947, Salzburg Global Seminar has been the sole caretaker and curator of the cultural heritage of Schloss Leopoldskron.

Today, we are prioritizing a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and achieving carbon neutrality in our unique 18th century facilities. Schloss Leopoldskron is fully owned and operated by the Salzburg Global Seminar.

Our Mission

Salzburg Global was founded in 1947 as a forum for post-war dialogue and reconciliation. Since then, our programs have sought to bridge divides, advance movements for change, and create a positive impact on individuals, institutions, and systems. Whether at our home of Schloss Leopoldskron, through online programs, or in locations around the world, our mission is to challenge current and future leaders to shape a better world.
