Tour description:

From the Gasserkofel, the marked hiking trail leads across scenic alpine pastures to the Seespitzhütte at 2,327 meters. After a leisurely rest on the sun terrace, follow the trail further uphill to the Oberseitsee, which lies picturesquely in a wide cirque below the Seespitze. The mountain lake was formed after the glaciers retreated and impresses with its tranquil setting amidst the high-alpine landscape. From the Seespitzhütte, it takes about 45 minutes to reach the Oberseitsee. The hike offers magnificent views of the peaks of the Panargen Ridge and the mountain scenery of the Deferegg Valley.

Tip: Stopping at the Seespitzhütte is ideal for a bite to eat before continuing on to the lake or as a leisurely way to end the hike. From the hut’s terrace, you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the Defereggental valley.
