Kilkaste in Tschagguns

Today, AMRAI is showing you one of its favorite churches, the Roman Catholic "Parish and Pilgrimage Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary" in Tschagguns. The church stands free, on the "Kirchenstein Kilkaste" ledge, at the entrance to the village, just behind the bridge over the Ill. You can start right from the AMRAI, keep heading towards Tschagguns on the Litzdamm and you will soon see the church. Once there, AMRAI recommends a short visit to the church. No matter what the position of the sun, the light from outside falls freely and unobstructed through numerous windows into the church interior, creating a friendly, bright nave. Back in the fresh air, a short path leads you past the church, across the cemetery and up to Kilkaste. Here you have a fantastic view of Tschagguns. Finally, we recommend a detour to our supplier "Kristahof", where you can buy fresh produce directly from the farmer in the farm store. Simply head down to the right towards the Cresta and you're there. Return via the Cresta road towards Tschagguns and then on the Litzdamm back to the AMRAI.
