The walk to the Plinian Spring is a trail that runs inside the Baths Park. The trail within the park is up to 8km long and the walk can last from 20min to a maximum of 1h.
Located in the Stelvio National Park on the southern slope of Mount Reit, the Pliniana Spring is
nestled in a romantic park. The area is freely accessible and is located between the facilities of Bagni Nuovi and Bagni Vecchi. The forest leading to Fonte Pliniana was planted in the 19th century to make the stay of guests at the Bagni di Bormio more welcoming. Today the rich alpine vegetation, which consists of pines, larches, firs, gembers, mugho trees, and heather, is also home to species of Mediterranean flora that thrive thanks to the particularly temperate microclimate produced by the warm waters and the excellent sunny exposure.
After a stretch of walking among tall firs and larches, one enters the gorge of the Adda valley. At the end of the path one is
greeted by a peculiar artificial cave built around the Pliniana Spring from which hot water gushes out.
