Way description:
The hike starts at the Stein-Bauer parking lot, where you can park your car free of charge. From the goods road, follow a narrow path, initially steeper up to the left, then slightly uphill through the forest towards Gründecksattel and continue along the signposted paths towards Hochgründeck. Worth seeing: the Peace Chapel above the Heinrich-Kiener-Haus, on the St. Rupert Pilgrims' Trail.
The Hochgründeck is one of the highest forested mountains in Europe and is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in Austria. The relatively long tour is rewarded with a view of around 300 peaks (Hochkönig, Tennengebirge, Dachstein, Niedere and Hohe Tauern, Kitzbühel Alps and Dientner Schieferberge)
