Winter hiking trail Rosenalm

The winter hiking trail to the Fichtensee lake on the Rosenalm is a fantastic alternative for non-skiers to experience the winter wonderland of the Zillertal. The Rosenalmbahn (pedestrian ticket 29 euros plus 2 euros deposit) takes you from Zell am Ziller to the Rosenalm mountain station.

The easy 1-hour (outward and return) hike starts directly at the Rosenalmbahn mountain station and leads downhill a short distance below the baby lift before crossing the Plattenanger 2 lift track on the right. Special care and consideration is required for the arriving T-bar lift users. After approx. 200 m, turn left at the junction and follow the path to the Fichtensee lake. Once at the Fichtensee, you can stroll around the reservoir and enjoy the special winter atmosphere. Return to the mountain station via the same route.

Cool tip: Don't forget good shoes, hat, sunglasses and gloves!
